The state of the Internet

Yeah. Hey, how ya doin'?

The end is nigh. To the year, that is. Soon it will be 2011 and I can feel even more in the future than I did last year. I look back. I look foward. Still no personal hover craft. Cheated, I am (said Yoda).

All in all it's been a good year. Lots of bacon. Lots of Star Wars. Lots of Dr Who. And that's mostly thanks to my friends for sending great stuff for me to look at during morning coffee.

This blog is a place where I keep the cool stuff I like, so I never expect much traffic or interaction with anyone. I do enoy a wander through the fun stuff and wish I commented more on things. I am officially a writer. I write for a living, yet I have no voice here, on my own blog. Maybe that's the new years resolution, to write more for fun. What do you thnk? Should I?

Today's thoughts

I came across a really brilliant blog yesterday where someone actually writes, instead of simply posting links for bacon, star wars and their teeth. I didn't know just writing was allowed. So I'm creating a new category called jibber-jabber. By the way, the inspriational blog is baconafterdark.blogspot.com. You can see why I was attracted to it.

I was grooming through my email earlier and found a link to bacon jam. I'm not sure why it didn't trigger a whole post of it's own. Perhaps I was feeling unworthy due to the inspirational blog mentioned above. I know why this one never made it to the blog. I nearly puked when I read it.

The other day I was standing behind some huge guy on the subway. He had on a bizarre straw hat like Van Gogh and ladies coat by Liz Claiborne (albeit a very masculine style). Transvestites and transexuals are very much the norm in my neighborhood, so when I see a big one I check out their clothes as they would fit me. It's like window shopping. Imagine my dismay, when as I was craning to see his dress/skirt/pants choice, I noticed his cane with the white tip. Blind. Damn.

I am ashamed about how much I made fun of snuggies before I bought one. I think it was because the advertising is so wretched. But damn, the snuggie is a boon to couch-sitting in a chilly house.
